NO SWEET CAROLINES

IMG_1030.PNG

Sassy not sweet! The No Sweet Carolines stir those deep longings for steamy dueling keys with attitude. ZiZi and YunYun a.k.a. D’arcy Han and Kristin Fung are two powerful vocalists and songwriters who bring both intimacy to the stadium stage, and grandeur to the club. This duo of dynamos is claiming space in music for powerfully wise Asian women. They redefine well-known tropes, saying “nah” to predictable and tired repertoire. They sing what you’ve been deprived from groovin’ and jammin’ to for far too long! Evolving with the times to reach the longing audience, these ladies are here to defy expectations. Challenging the status quo, they are powerful, feminine, authentic, crazy, fun, and completely responsive to the moment. Got a request? Make it at your own risk. You won’t hear Sweet Caroline in this set!

ZiZi is a Beijing-born, Vancouver-raised singer, songwriter, producer, voice actor (Zenko Go, Netflix/DreamWorks), and environment advocate whose featured appearances on Sing! China (“The Voice”) and CCTV specials to audiences of 500 million created a cultural bridge from North America to Asia. ZiZi’s 2018 EP “This is Me” reached #4 on the BBC Soul Charts. International and national tour highlights as a lead singer include RC World, Ten Souljers, Serpentine Funk, Encore, and Disney Cruises to Northern Europe and the Caribbean.

YunYun is the alter ego of Vancouver born-and-raised singer, pianist, songwriter, music director, and producer Kristin Fung whose original concerts and innovative community-building music events span the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Funk N’ Mink (DowntownVan), Uke Can Sing (Toronto Arts in the Parks), Second City (Toronto),and Anthony Braxton’s Tri-Centric Vocal Ensemble (New York). Her EP, “Live at the Garden” is the first live album to be filmed in front of an audience at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver’s Chinatown.
