LONG-LEG LEROY

Born of dust and love on the high plains, Long-Leg Leroy took to the stilts before he could read, fashioning his first pair from fence posts and old leather belts. What began as a boy's longing to see above the cornfields soon became a calling.
For 22 seasons he has roamed the land, visiting festivals, fairs, parades, and soirees along the way — a towering figure in straw hat and leather chaps, harmonica at his lips and lasso at his side. He stands 9 feet above the crowd (plus the hat), yet bends low to greet every soul, young or old.
Equal parts showman, craftsman, and artist, Leroy sews his own chaps by hand. Round these parts, chaps his size are hard to come by.
