Canadian singer-songwriter Dani Black has been on stage for much of her young adulthood, accumulating over 400 hours of on-stage solo performance since first taking the stage at 16 years old. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Dani evolved from performing at local businesses – cafés, bars, & restaurants – to commanding the stage of larger festivals and concerts throughout Metro Vancouver, as well as several artist showcases, including the beloved intimate concert series, “Secret Sessions” and “Schmidthaus” (where her show sold out in less than 50 minutes).

Dani is a prolific songwriter, having written over 200 songs in the past year alone. Her January 2023 “100 songs in 90 days” challenge (a byproduct of a vocal injury in Fall 2022) quickly racked up over 100,000 views online.

Now 20 years old, Dani’s journey with music has involved some wonderful grassroots

moments. She shot to TikTok notoriety in January 2021, with 1M+ views of her 20-second rendition of “Wellerman”, she raised over $17,000 for foodbanks (performing online during the COVID lockdowns), and she fulfilled every Canadian singer’s dream by performing the national anthem at a Vancouver Canucks hockey game. A chance encounter on a beach in Maui in March 2022 led to her being invited to perform twice with Hawaiian music legend Wilmont Kahaialii and his renowned band of global entertainers.

Her June 2023 recording sessions in Nashville, TN, enabled Dani to blend her own story-telling style of writing with the talents of Grammy-nominated producer Matt Bronlewee. 2 of those songs are scheduled for release in early 2024.
