HARP & VIOLA

IMG_9329_edited.jpg

Harp & Viola are a classical trained duo that perform traditional classical pieces and/or contemporary pop and rock songs, a la the popular Netflix series, Bridgerton.

Josephine Lee began to play the harp at the age of 5 and continued with private lessons until she began her studies at the University of Victoria for Performance Harp. She has been a professional Harpist, Wedding Harpist, and harp teacher for over sixteen years. While in Victoria, she performed as the resident Harpist for the Fairmont Hotel “The Empress" Dining Room and Tea Room, the Union Club, and for Royal Victorian Weddings. In Vancouver, she's performed the harp at hundreds of Wedding Ceremonies in beautiful venues around the Lower Mainland, such as The Chapel at Stanley Park, Minoru Chapel, The Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park, Hart House, Brock House, Cecil Greens, Hycroft Manor, Terminal City, Sutton Place Hotel, Four Seasons, Pan Pacific, and many others. She has been blessed with being able to play the harp at these momentous occasions in people’s lives, and as such, she does everything she can to give her very best performance at every special event.

Thomas Beckman has been one of Vancouver’s pre-eminent viola and violin virtuosos for over a decade. With influences ranging from classical to contemporary music, he currently serves as the principal violist for the Prince George Symphony Orchestra and is also a founding member for the award-winning instrumental trio Sons of Granville. He is equally in his element whether playing classic repertoire without amplification or using his loop pedal to create modern arrangements with layers of captivating orchestral sounds.

Perfect for cocktail hour, background reception music, outdoor garden parties or weddings, your guests will enjoy the lilting notes, recognizable music and succulent sounds of Harp & Violin.
