COMPANY B JAZZ BAND

Company B Jazz Band, a Vancouver-based sextet in the style of the Andrews and Boswell Sisters, rouses crowds for dancing and smiles with their cheerful renditions of classic repertoire from the 1920s through 1950s.  Loaded with personality, the harmonies of the female vocal trio are well-complemented by an instrumental trio of clarinet/sax, guitar, and upright bass.

A blend of excellent musicianship, an evident love for the music they perform, tightness, spontaneity, and just the right amount of humour gives CoBJB a broad appeal which keeps listeners and dancers of all ages coming back for more.

Since the their inception in 2007, Company B Jazz Band has been featured at music venues and festivals in all corners of British Columbia, as well as in Washington, Oregon, and California.  Company B has delighted audiences at many of the premier venues in the Vancouver area, including the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts, the Vancouver East Cultural Centre, and the Red Robinson Show Theatre.  They are also considered one of the most popular acts in the Lower Mainland's swing dance community.

Other career highlights include large-scale performances in the TD Canada Trust Vancouver International Jazz Festival (Gastown 2011, Canada Day on Granville Island 2010 and 2008), participating in CBC's 2011 Musical Nooners outdoor concert series / radio broadcast, and arranging 2 hours' worth of their repertoire for a 12-piece big band on commission from the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival.
