ELTON JOHN TRIBUTE SHOW

Vancouver’s piano man and acclaimed singer/songwriter Matthew Presidente brings the music, flamboyance, theatricality, and emotional power of Elton John to the stage in a spectacular two-set celebration of one of rock’s most iconic performers.
Spanning Elton’s greatest hits alongside beloved deep cuts and fan favourites, the show moves from “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” “Bennie and the Jets,” and “Your Song” to gems like “Levon,” “Someone Saved My Life Tonight,” “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters,” and “Love Lies Bleeding.” With his signature piano-driven sound, powerful vocals, quick wit, and high-energy stage presence, Matthew puts his own personality and performance style into the music while capturing the spirit, theatricality, singalong energy, and emotional depth of an Elton John live show, without being a direct impersonation.
An accomplished original artist in his own right, Matthew released his full-length album Chosen Sun in 2025, earning over 100,000 streams in its first month. Described by Xtra Magazine as “one of—if not—the best singer/songwriters in our LGBT scene,” he performs more than 150 shows in a single year and has become a standout performer on stages throughout BC and Alberta.
For Matthew, this is a celebration of the music that helped define the piano-driven rock tradition he carries forward in his own work—with plenty of sequins, spectacle, and songs you’ll want to sing at the top of your lungs.
“(Matthew) reminded me of Elton John. Not musically in a direct way, but in presence. - Bob Wiseman, of Blue Rodeo
“As his star continues to rise, it won’t be long until ‘Matthew Presidente’ becomes a household name recognized across Canada and beyond. For anyone lucky enough to catch him at Tyrant Studios that cold March evening, it’s easy to see why.” - Luc Lemans, reporting for Showhub
“(Matthew) is that rare performer who brings energy, warmth and intimacy almost instantly to the room. He is the kind of storyteller who makes you lean in to listener more deeply. His electric energy and joy is infectious: it is impossible to not leave his show feeling uplifted” – Rev. Rhian Walker, St. Andrews Wesley
